i'm a BIG fan of special k

I don't mean to scare you, but I have 8 types of cereal in my pantry. I only started with 2 types of cereal last year. But when supermarket go on sale, I always buy new ones to try.

L-R: Special K, Special K Advantage, Just Right, Nutrigrain, Special K honey almond, Milo, Uncle Toby's Vita Brits and Skippy Cornflakes.

And I have to insist that original Special K is my favorite! =) It's crunchier than normal cornflakes and not sweet like Milo or Nutrigrain cereals.

For the last couple of months, cereal and milk has been my favorite breakfast. I usually mix my cereal up to have a variety.

never a dull breakfast! :)

happy birthday jia shen!

I'll delight all of you with some photos of food.

but first of all..

Happy Birthday Jia Shen!

made the night before: Oreo Cheesecake. far too rich for my liking!

i mixed frozen berries with plain yogurt, creating my own berry yogurt =)
yogurt is one of my new favourite!
sorry, this has nothing to do with jia shen's birthday.

freshly made: chocolate ganache and raspberry cake
had a good time baking this with shereena and cherly!

potterhouse with pepper sauce. absolute thumbs up!
the sauce was so good. we dipped whatever we could in it.

chicken risotto
i thought it was really nice. didn't like the cashew nuts though. this one has a 'chinese porridge' flavour to it.
i figured out that i loved risotto of all sorts.

Sorry folks. have no idea where I ate. but it's along Chapel St, opposite Cafe Greco's.

I stare at girls

at the gym..

have you ever subconsciously stared a person with a hot body of the same sex and when she looks up and catches you do doing that, you quickly turn and pretend to be looking somewhere else, focused on your workout?

not in a freaky way, but I think I do that sometimes.

it's quite embarrassing when they do catch you doing that. For that split second, we'd be having eye contact. And we don't speak.

I don't want them to think 'yeah, I know you're looking at me because I'm good looking' (my ego la) or 'what's this bloody Asian looking at?'

I don't want to create an awkward situation either.

a good example would be today. I was at the gym early today and saw this familiar girl whom I thought was really slim. Not overly skinny, but just nice. Did I mention she was tall and pretty too?

but she had red highlights, slightly gothic dressing and a huge tattoo. well, I knew bout her dressing and her tattoo because I bumped into her in the dressing room. I'm not stalking her, I swear.

I wanted to at least say hi, or compliment on how fit she was, or just simply tell her that I'm not freaky and I don't mean to stare at her. but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

I'll try saying hi the next time, just to get rid of that staring awkwardness. That way, when I do stare, I can just smile and wave hi.

gosh, I have to totally motivate myself to achieve that sort of body..

i love my mum

I feel extremely grateful for my mum who is supporting my studies here in Melbourne.

Things here are 3 times more expensive than things in Malaysia. And I know how hard she works in order to keep me comfortable and well-fed over here.

I often think about what would it be like in the future. Will I marry someone who would love me all my life? Will I obtain a successful career and make enough money?

Just yesterday, I lost my wallet. And in my wallet, I had at least $100 in cash. I had to phone my dear mum to make necessary card cancellations. And the worst of all, I lost my Msian IC and license.

I feel the need to work and earn back the money that was stolen. I feel that I owe my mum for the lost money. but of course, money isn't the only thing from my mother that I'm grateful for. Because of her, I am who I am today.

I do hope I'll earn a decent living in the future so I can spend on my mum =) take her out for nice meals, buy her nice clothes or take her on a holiday just like what she does for me.

She insist that I don't have to work while studying if its for the sake of money as she wants me to have an enjoyable student life. See how great my mum is?

pesto risotto

this has got to be one of the best risotto i've ever tasted

it sounds as if i've just had this dish for the first time. but the actual fact is that i've had multiple times and its one of the reasons why i still go back to Sofia.

"It taste better than it looks" are amongst the many comments i receive when I introduce this dish to friends.

They all simply love it!

and jing, it has pesto in there, you have got to try this when you come to melb!
