club sandwiches

I've been a little carried away with food presentation lately..

I call this the club wrap, want a bite?

this is the club sandwich, want another bite?

sometimes it's so worth putting that little extra time and effort in food preparation. it'll look good and taste better.

for a yummy club sandwich, you'll need:
3 slices of bread, toasted
an egg, beaten
2 slices shaved ham
1 slice roasted chicken
1 piece bacon
1 piece iceberg lettuce
tomato slices
mayonnaise
4 toothpicks

1. scramble fry the eggs and set them aside
2. pan fry the bacon & roasted chicken. you may also add the ham into the pan
3. toast the bread
4. arrange in this order from bottom to top:
bread 1 - butter - eggs - ham
bread 2 - butter - lettuce - tomato - mayo - chicken - bacon
place bread 2 and ingredients over bread 1, then top with bread 3
5. slice the sandwich diagonally into 4. make sure you pierce a toothpick into each stack! or expect a mess..

for the wrap, I omitted bacon and added in spinach and cucumber.

enjoy! ;)

midnight muffins

you know what, sometimes I imagine myself opening a my own little cafe in the future.
these days, I'd just get off my chair and start making muffins in the middle of the night. well, I just did that earlier. it's 10.30pm and I just baked this:

I call it the apple carrot muffin
ingredients include:

apples

oats and raisin

this is a much healthier option to traditional muffins as it does not contain butter or oil as I got the recipe from Annette Sym's Too Good To Be True recipe book.
