me, a model?

I had a satisfied dinner. In addition to that, I ate lychees.

So I should be really full.

But after refraining from eating those fish balls (from pasar malam lok lok) for so long.
I finally gave in.

and then my mum go and ask this question,

"Do you think you can ever be a model?"

"Can be quite tough ya, have to starve yourself skinny."

"But you love food so much, can be a torture."

Very well said.

"If I can be a model good la!"

I don't want to leave

I am now feeling unwilling to return to Melbourne after spending almost two weeks back in Malaysia. Here, if I haven't got friends to hit the mall with, I would just grab my brother along (who usually doesn't mind). I also have the convenience to go out anytime to get any little thing I need with my own car.

It's not that I don't like Melbourne. My life in Melbourne is wonderful because I live with my relatives, who happen to be really really nice people. However, my university social life is quite pitiful. I do have one or two close friends but I think that I'm not interacting with others enough, especially the locals. After all, I am studying a communication program. It's not exactly the most comfortable thing trying to mix with the locals. In lectures, its obvious that the Asians tend to sit with one another. Vice versa, the locals too. I've worked with the locals in group works, but find it intimidating because of their accent. Once awhile, I do get lost after failing to keep up in what they're saying. Beginning of the year, I even dropped one of the classes after only attending one lecture, one of the reasons was because I could hardly understand a thing the lecturer was talking about.

When people ask me how's Melbourne, I always tell them that I love the lifestyle there but hate university life. I can still recall how miserable I felt about my first week of university. I was shattered to find the program below expectations, having subjects that were abstract. There were also course readings to complete, which were dry and complicated. There were many times I gave up on readings, after needing to search the dictionary after each sentence. The assignments given were therefore a torture. I sometimes wished that I did high school there, so I would have better English.

I quickly got used to Melbourne. Living with my relatives were wonderful because that meant I have family. I mostly stayed home. I must admit again that my university social life is sad because I don't take part in activities nor hang out with friends after classes. I always preferred to go home. My moods were mostly better on fridays because the weekend has arrived. Needless to say, I dread when it was over.

I love Melbourne because of its ethnic diversity and the advancement in technology. There, you can find all sorts of authentic food. There are many Greeks and Italians in Melbourne and I can't tell if there were the real Aussies or not. There are also many Vietnamese and Chinese. In Melbourne, certain areas are classified as according to an ethnic because of the vast cultural elements that particular ethnic offers. For example, Box Hill is an obvious Chinamen area. You can get anything Asian there, from my favourite Malaysian Milo to Chinese vegetables to Roti Canai. That place makes me feels that I'm back in Malaysia because almost everyone there are Asians.

Sigh. When I was in Melbourne, I didn't mind being there. Now that I'm back, I don't feel like leaving again.

if we were cartoons

if we were all cartoons, I wouldn't mind looking like this:

the flowery head band is just pretty, accompanied with that dress. the combination gives out a serene mood.
I just had to put on a dress. I just love them.

I'll have hair like that one day (hopefully), just you wait!

what's with the present you'd ask. I love wrapping presents! wrapping papers and ribbons are just interesting items. you can do so much with them.
so, who's got a present to be wrapped?

the microphone is there because I had a dream to be a singer. (coughs)

the martini is there just cause it goes well with the dress. the colour even matches the flowery head band! how's that for a reason?

the underwater background was the best looking one, with fishies swimming in the back!
how much more serene can that be?

go create one, and show me how you would look like if you were a cartoon.

lunch buddies

broad daylight robbery

do you know what's broad daylight robbery? I'll explain.

  1. you withdraw RM100 from your HSBC bank account.
  2. then you make your way to Sunway Pyramid.
  3. touch your touch and go card at the car park entrance.
  4. exchange glares with other cars fighting for that same parking spot you've been patiently waiting for.
  5. take 4 exciting escalators ride down from CP6 parking to the mall.
  6. then get forced to go round in large circles to take another 3 thrilling escalator rides down to the nearest money changer.
  7. hand him your RM100 you've withdrawn, asking for aussie dollars.
  8. he returns you $37.
  9. now that's excluding your parking charges and petrol.
ok, maybe I got a little carried away with the story telling. but it's seriously no joke, things here in Malaysia is still very affordable.

feeding wild birds

have you ever fed wild birds?
I was up at Mt. Dandenong last Monday, feeding Rosellas & Cockatoos.

it was an amazing experience, getting up close with these wild birds.
what's even amazing is how quick they open the kuachis.

it was hilarious when they started landing on my head.
slightly ticklish.

and man, it was freezing.
couldn't feel my fingers after standing there with palms open, filled with bird seeds.

Cockatoos are so soft and warm, makes me wana cuddle them in this cold weather.

holidays are here!

Finally!

I'm done with my final assignment. It's that horrible disgusting depressing last assignment that I had to finish up before I can have a real holiday.

I'm happy =)

I'd be going around Melbourne with May tomorrow, right after I drop that horrible.. etc assignment in.

Then the rest of the this and next week, it's going to be a food olympic.
some honorable guest will be flying in from Malaysia, so we'll be eating.
and eating.
and eating.

and eating.

Then when I fly back to Malaysia,
I'll eat again.

oh no.

I don't believe it.

you won't believe it. (I almost don't believe it myself either)

I finished a foot-long subway sandwich for lunch yesterday.

aunty M wasn't very supportive, "very good, we will grow fat together," she said.

several asian guys walked out of subway, holding only a 6" sandwich.

I felt horrible!

thankfully, there were still some encouragement. grace said, "the 6" isn't even filling!"

another thing. I woke up at 5.30am today. for a jog! (again, I don't believe it)

it was really tough I must say. after those frequent visits to the gym, I was still half-dead out there.

I didn't just wake up and decide to go for a jog of course! (5.30 in the morning? come on!)

I jogged to accompany aunty M.

and aunty M jogged because she saw this really fit lady who works at the gym.

and this gym lady persuaded to her to go for a run.

I'm quite embarrassed. I'm the youngest fellow and yet the least fit.

but it was quite good. I made it back to the gym alive eventually.

and did I mention that it was So Hot while jogging?

that was because I was wearing multiple layers of clothing. I'm not revealing how many.

it's very cold here in the morning alright? so I put a few extra layers just in case!

10 minutes into jogging, I was feeling stuffy. really stuffy.

but I can't just start stripping off my jackets. how am I going to run holding them?

the gym trainer lady didn't even need a jacket.

she was just in her sports gear. brrr..

man, I was really really tired for one moment. so took it easy at the gym today.

read some gossip magazines while waiting for aunty M.

came across a section where they talked bout skinny people in Hollywood.

featured was Mischa Barton.

eww, those protruding bones sure are scary. ugly too!

how can they not eat at all?

don't they know they'll die?

I can't don't eat.

the day I starve myself, I'm not celine.
